Tuesday, March 10th was our Kindergarten Information Day! 🏫📚

SAVE THE DATE: End-of-Year Testing! ✅

Families, it’s almost time for our students to show off everything they’ve learned this year! To ensure every student has the best environment to succeed, we need your help in making attendance a top priority during our testing window.

💡 Why Attendance Matters
Testing days are carefully timed and coordinated. When students are absent, they have to miss regular class time later to complete make-ups. Being here on the scheduled day allows your child to:
* Test in a familiar environment with their peers.
* Stay relaxed and confident without the stress of "catching up."
* Maintain their regular school routine.

✏️ How You Can Help
* Avoid Appointments: Please try to schedule doctor or dentist visits outside of these dates.
* Early Birds: Ensure students arrive at school on time and ready to go!
* Rest & Fuel: A good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast make a world of difference.

Read Across America Week is Almost Here!

Next week, we’re celebrating Read Across America Week 2026! It’s a time to spark a love of reading and honor the joy that books bring to our lives! We’ll be celebrating all things reading and the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss with a week full of fun Reading Spirit Days.

We encourage all of our students to join in the fun by participating in our themed spirit days and, of course, by spending extra time reading at home. Whether it’s a favorite bedtime story, a new adventure book, or a silly Seuss classic, every page turned helps grow a lifelong reader!

Here is our spirit day schedule. Let’s get ready to celebrate! Thank you for supporting reading at home and helping us make this week a fun and memorable experience for our students!

🚨 Weather Update for Friday, February 6, 2026

Due to road conditions, Stanly County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay for students and staff on Friday, February 6.

Safety is our top priority. This decision was made to allow for increased visibility and rising temperatures to help improve road conditions during morning travel.

We encourage families and staff to continue monitoring:

✔️ School Messenger calls

for the most up-to-date information regarding schedules and any potential changes.

⏰ Two-Hour Delay | Thursday, February 5, 2026

Due to local weather conditions, all Stanly County Schools will operate on a TWO-HOUR DELAY tomorrow, Thursday, February 5, 2026.

• Students will begin school on a two-hour delay
• Staff will also operate on a two-hour delay
• Sports and extracurricular activities will be monitored

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. This decision was made after careful review of current and forecasted conditions in consultation with emergency management officials.

We are also monitoring an incoming weather system that may bring additional winter weather. Road conditions will be checked early tomorrow morning.

Please continue to monitor the district website, district and school Facebook pages, and school messenger calls and emails.
